What is Storied?

Storied is a business I started in 2020. I interview people about stories they feel are important to share with those they love.

Why Storied?

In 2015 my father died of cancer. My family put on a beautiful memorial service for him full of stories about his life, career, family and friendship. It was sweet, and funny and full of love. Yet, the whole time I was thinking, “Why didn’t we share all of these beautiful stories with him while he was still alive?”

Often it feels too awkward and vulnerable to share some of these deeply personal feelings even with those we are closest to. Sometimes, people do not allow these conversations to happen because it is too uncomfortable for them to hear. Sharing what you love about someone, in your own voice, is a deeply intimate and powerful gift. The advantage of having it recorded is that they can listen to it with, or without you, around.

With all due respect, why should I share my stories with you?

I have always loved talking to people and hearing stories about their lives. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over a decade, I have spent hours honing the skills of listening, asking questions, and helping people feel comfortable sharing. I do not shy away from talking about both the beautiful and traumatic parts of your life. I welcome, and will hold, any emotion that comes along with sharing your story.

My kids are firmly in their double digits and I still have not completed their baby books. I have the best intentions to get it done. You might have the best intentions to capture your stories but haven’t yet. Let me help you so that it gets done.

How does it work?

When you have a story, memory, or an audience in mind, let's talk. Every Storied experience includes a 15-minute consultation call. This gives us a chance to get to know each other a bit, allows you to set the tone and direction of your story, and ensures you get the most out of your Storied interview session. From there we will set up an interview and then I will work on getting it edited up. The final product will include a high-quality, professionally edited digital audio file stored on a USB flash drive and gift boxed up. It will also be emailed to you as an audio file.
