Service : Citizen Companions provides non medical assistance to clients so that they can be accompanied into the community for meals, shopping, outings or appointments.  

About the Company :What was to become Citizen Companions began in 2006. We began seeing clients at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA on a weekly basis. We would accompany clients out of the facility for an hour or so for a meal, some shopping or a hair appointment. Within a few weeks positive changes in behavior and well being were reported by medical staff and social workers. Clients began to look forward to their "excursions" and would become disappointed if prevented from going due to inclement weather or illness. Citizen Companions has become a real component of a Veteran's Treatment Plan.  

Starting in 2011 Citizen Companions has expanded to Non Veteran clients. Working with Assisted Living Communities, Senior Centers, various Faith Communities and Elder Services Stakeholders, we hope to bring our services to more client families.  

The logo of Citizen Companions is based upon the Blue Star Flag. Since the First World War, when displayed at a residence, a Blue Star Flag means that a family member is serving the nation in the Armed Forces. Our mission is to "Serve Those who Have Already Honored the Nation with Their Service".
